With spring officially here in Massachusetts, the number of motorcyclists is bound to increase on our roadways. As the weather warms up, more and more people choose to commute to work on their motorcycles or get out and enjoy a leisurely ride. It is important for automobile drivers to be aware of bikers and remember to keep a look out for them at all times.
Perhaps doing so could have prevented a motorcycle accident that occurred recently in Worcester, Massachusetts. Authorities are still investigating the crash that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with serious lower body injuries.
The accident occurred as an automobile was trying to make a left turn onto Southbridge Street. The 33-year-old driver of the car evidently did not see the motorcycle coming down the street toward her, because she pulled out in front of the biker. Although the motorcyclist attempted to avoid a crash with the car, he could not stop in time. The biker flew into a snowbank after his motorcycle went airborne following the collision.
One of the passengers in the woman’s car was taken to the hospital with injuries, the extent of which is unknown. Two other passengers and the driver were not hurt in the crash.
The motorcyclist who was injured in this accident may wish to speak with a personal injury attorney in order to discuss the incident. A lawyer may be able to advise him on his right to compensation for his pain and suffering, medical expenses and damages done to his motorcycle.
