Lowell bus-car crash leaves 6 injured

Anyone who has been in a car accident knows how scary and dangerous they can be. For parents, it may be especially frightening to think of their children being involved in a crash. While some people are lucky to escape with just a few cuts or bruises, many car accident victims end up seriously injured. In a recent crash in Lowell that may have left some parents feeling uneasy, a car collided with a school bus while it was transporting students.

It is not clear how this crash happened, but we do know that the bus was carrying students of the J.G. Pyne Arts Magnet School when the crash occurred at the Cabot Street and Moody Street intersection. Police say both drivers were injured and taken to Lowell General Hospital. Four students also sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were all taken to the hospital as well. The rest of the students were transported to a different bus or picked up by their parents.

While police continue to investigate this accident, parents of the injured students as well as the drivers involved may want to start considering their legal options. First, it’s important for anyone involved in a car accident to know that there are legal options if someone else caused or contributed to an accident. Especially if a crash resulted in injury that led to medical bills, a personal injury lawsuit may be appropriate.

Through a personal injury claim, car accident victims can seek compensation from a driver or third party who was negligent in causing a collision. In this case, that could be either driver or possibly the school bus company, depending on the findings of the police investigation. An experienced personal injury attorney can help explain your options.
